Belphegor pour l'album "Pestapokalypse VI"

Hello, I would like you to introduce this band to our readers, who might not all know you guys.

Helmuth: Well, progress as a band and just with our instruments is first priority for BELPHEGOR, stagnation = death.
That was our aim, right from the start – to become ever more intensive, obscure with our music.
For PESTAPOKALYPSE VI, it was our goal to ban our hardest and tightest album on CD and i think we made that. Hell yeah, we tried a few new things, trying to take our hellsound a bit further each time, musicwise we gave our best.

Describe your music, too, the way you feel you're playing/writing it.

The variety is for sure one of our strengths on the new album, the rehearsals - the feeling, the production, the songs,…it was amazing to create PESTAPOKALYPSE VI.
The 9 songs reached a new level of dynamics, besides that - u can hear the most aggressive vocal work I've ever done. I think we have managed to melt ultra blastbeats and heaviness to one union.
U know, all our energy, inpirations and blood flow into PESTAPOKALYPSE VI, everything sounds monumental and epic.
PESTAPOKALYPSE VI is such a huge evolutionary step for this band in terms of sound, songwriting and the musicianship.

How come you're throwing us a new album so quickly?

Well, time were just perfekkt to spread the black mass with another brutal BELPHEGOR album. No bullshit when I say we will give the demons the strongest album we've ever made.

Last time you answered our questions, all seemed fine with Nefastus. What happened?

Of course it`s a pity if you have a changing line up, but that allowed us to surpass ourselves every time - because of the fresh blood in the band, you know - through the hiring of better musicians.
I always consider that as a chance to push the band forward - stagnation means death!!!!

Can you explain to us both the album title and the cover?

Sigurd: The Concept is based on the Pestilence, the Devil and the Apocalypse.
There´s interesting historical and religious backgrounds to it, which we thought would be interesting to write lyrics about.
According to the book of Revelations the pest (along with famine, war and death is a sign for the upcoming apocalypse, at least the superstitious population were taking this shit for granted, and were eventually losing their faith in god, turned to Satan and started celebrating black masses. You´ve got crumbling / burning churches in the background symbolising the powerlessness of the catholic fuckin church, there´s heads of corpses with horns symbolising the rise of Satanism.

As for the ravenheaded priests depicted, there´s room for own interpretations, the raven was in some countries the Symbol of the plague, they could also be the 4 harbingers of the imminent apocalypse

Helmuth: BLUHTSTURM EROTIKA for example features verses of Goethe and the Marquis de Sade, we wanted to let those two contrary characters collide.
The beautiful and pure on the one side, and the decadent and sinful on the other.

What did the label change change for you guys?

We´re happy to have found a strong partner in all things metal and have now got all the possibilities we were refused in the past.
U know man, it doesn`t matter which label BELPHEGOR are on, we always do our own thing and follow our own path of sin. Music has absolute priority in the BELPHEGOR world.

Last time, you also talked about a DVD project, did you change your mind on this, too?

Not yet, every asshole Band puting out ten DVD´s, at the moment it hasn´t any sense for BELPHEGOR. Maybe in middle/end of 2007, time will tell.

How about a dildo with prominent rusty nails on it for the next limited edition boxset?

Har har har, good idea fukker - yeah, that would fit perfekkt, i keep that in mind for our next blast explosion.

Your Favourite female pornstar?

Uhh, to many to mention them all. Ava Vincent, Angelina Jolie, Sylvia Saint, Laura Angel and fukkin Taylor Rain.

Do you know and like any french band?

Paris / Frankreich is always a hotbed for BELPHEGOR, the demons there are truly dedicated to hard music.
Yeah, our brothers of ARKHON INFAUSTUS, they are true to themselves, real sick Metal heads and a cool live band.

What's your view on today's metal scene?

Sigurd: Eventhough I still keep myself to a certain level informed, i really dont´t know what´s goin on anymore, there´s just so many new and also crappy bands out there giving the scene a bad name...
Haven´t heard any good shit recently, which grabbed me by the balls, no...
I´m always looking to be blown away

Helmuth: I see the extreme Metal scene is growing again worldwide, so its a good time, u know - its great that ppl are interested again in hard guitar music.

Have you some touring plans for the near future?

Hell yeah, the masterplan is to go on tour, worldwide - to promote PESTAPOKALYPSE VI.
BELPHEGOR are confirmed for this years edition of X-Mas Festivals ( 10 shows incl. Paris ).
At the moment we prepare for the Blackest Of The Black Festivals that starts in middle of November 06.

Lemme tell you, we are fukking excited about that, u know, its a honour to us to share the stage with the mighty DANZIG.
And in Feb/March 2007 BELPHEGOR will be invading Usa / Canada, most shows are already booked. We`re gonna play with the UNLEASHED warriors, KRISIUN and support acts.
The tour is planned to kick off beginning February, about 25 shows.

We are really looking forward to that three amazing tours and to meeting loads of people, which we have been in contact with for a long time now.

U know, we want to offer the ppl that come to the shows a good performance and killer music, we´ll give them the absolute blast and shot our hits into their heads. BELPHEGOR are more ambitious then ever before...
